What is Quantity Surveying?

A Quantity Surveyor (QS) is a professional working within the construction industry concerned with construction cost & contracts  Cost planning & commercial management throughout the entire life cycle of the project from inception to post completion or person who calculates the amount of materials needed for building work, and how much they will cost. As an Quantity Surveyor, one can be an expert on these systems, and can work with Contractors ,Design Consultants and Architects . They can either work as consultants or they can be employed by a contractor or sub-contractor.

There’s an Quantity Surveyor in every Construction Project, You might prepare and evaluate construction & development tenders ,Manage & administer & co ordinate all types of construction projects including Contracts & sub contracts ,Construction progress schedule, cost control system , work measurement ,preparing , submitting ,managing progress invoices ,valuation of changes ,finalizing contracts. Providing advice on construction cost ,strategic planning to owners ,Clients, Architects, Contractors ,Engineers, Preparing & interpreting in tender documents, specification, general conditions. Participating in arbitration ,research ,Negotiation and Support dispute resolution.

B.Tech in (Construction Management) has 12+ years of Civil Engineering experience (Middle East & India), worked in Bangalore, Muscat(Oman), Madinah (Saudi Arabia),& recently  in Bangalore as Senior Civil Engineer.
